High Level Light Fixture Cleaning

Dust on a light fixture does two things: it cuts the light output you are paying for, and it traps heat inside the housing. We clean fixtures in place, from the floor wherever the height allows, with the dust captured in a vacuum rather than dropped onto the space below.

High Level Light Fixture Cleaning
OVERVIEW

Overhead light fixtures are among the dustiest surfaces in any commercial building, and among the least often cleaned. The housing sits in still air, it runs warm, and it attracts and holds fine particulate. Over a year or two that accumulation measurably reduces light levels, which means you are running the same electrical load for less usable light.

We clean fixtures without dismantling them. Telescopic poles carrying soft brush and vacuum heads reach the fixture from floor level, and the dust is drawn into a HEPA-filtered extraction unit rather than knocked loose onto merchandise, food preparation areas or production lines below. Where a fixture sits beyond ground reach, our licensed operators use powered access up to 75 feet.

This work is usually done alongside general high dusting of the surrounding ceiling and structure, because the dust on a fixture and the dust on the beam beside it come from the same source.

WHERE THIS APPLIES

Applications

Suspended pendant lighting in restaurants and bars, high bay fixtures in warehouses and manufacturing plants, recessed and track lighting in retail stores, atrium and concourse fixtures in shopping centres, and stairwell and corridor lighting in institutional buildings.

WHY IT MATTERS

Benefits

Restores light output that dust has been quietly reducing, removes a heat trap from the fixture housing, and improves the appearance of a space where the lighting is part of the design. Every fixture is documented before and after.

EQUIPMENT

Equipment We Use

Carbon fibre telescopic poles with soft brush and vacuum heads, HEPA-filtered extraction units at floor level, camera-mounted inspection tools, and powered access where fixtures sit beyond ground reach.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

Fixtures stay mounted and wired throughout; we clean the exterior and accessible housing only and do not open, service or re-lamp fittings. Powered access work follows a site-specific hazard assessment and is carried out by Working at Heights trained, licensed operators.
